Some say you have to be crazy to jump out of an airplane into a forest fire, but smokejumpers cant wait for the next fire call. Our Tribe felt we had to express our heartfelt thanks for the bravery and strength you showed in fighting such a horrific and devastating fire. Smokejumpers - Out of the sky and into the fire. Big Bear Hotshots have completed their critical training and are available nationally to fight. The crew was founded in 1983 as the first BLM. Kern Valley is an elite 20-person handcrew that fights wildfires with chainsaws, hand tools, and fire. KVHS is a national resource on call to fight fires anywhere in the US. Also it was heart wrenching to see so much forest burn in and near the Yosemite National Park.
